SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We are currently soliciting articles from published and non-published writers alike.  At present we cannot offer compensation.   All authors retain full First North American Rights to the material submitted and grant permission to Travel Notes Online to use it on their web site. The guidelines are as follows: 

        Subject matter should relate to travel or travel-related subjects only and can include articles, essays, poems and short stories.

        There is a minimum length of 500 words and a minimum of 7,000 words for articles, essays and short stories.

        Poems are accepted and are not subject to a minimum length. However, short poems will be combined with the featured article or with other poems.

        All material submitted must show the following format:

(1)   In the upper left hand corner type in your first and last name, address, telephone number, fax number, email and website (if applicable).

(2)   Please number all pages and include your name and the name of the article on each page.

(3)   All material must be double-spaced and free of grammatical and spelling errors.

(4)   Keep all material in the active and not passive voice whenever possible.

(5)   When submitting articles, make sure that you check all facts carefully.  We cannot be responsible for any errors in your work, and this will reflect on you, the writer. So check, double check, and triple check your work at all times before submitting.

(6) In addition to your work, please submit a brief bio (300 words or less) or other relevant material you want the readers to know about yourself.  It is alright to put in promotional material about yourself, a book or article you may have written, your web site, telephone number or email  where people can reach you, etc.

Please do not send any articles that are obviously thinly disguised advertising for your web site, hotel, etc.  Promotional articles are not accepted.
